Record your month-on-month business production metric and compare with your organisation’s consumption of:

• Electricity (sustainable and non-sustainable)
• Water(supplier and re-used)
• Gases used in the organisation
• Solvent usage
• Plastic and cardboard used for distribution

These can be compared with waste production of:

• Paper and cardboard
• Plastic
• Catering
• Wood
• Recycled non-hazardous
• Metals
• WEEE
• Production product
• Effluent to drain and tanker

Business travel and air miles are included to develop a carbon footprint with the current conversion factors:

Aspects and Impacts Register

Maintain a log of your organisation’s environmental aspects and impacts for:

• Greenhouse effect
• Local air quality
• Surface water pollution
• Consumption of non-renewables
• Waste burden
• External noise
• Ozone depletion
• Loss of flora/fauna

Each impact will have an environmental risk rating developed to include:

• Environmental scale and severity
• Business legislation and visibility
• Likelihood of an abnormal emergency situation

These generate a risk score for each impact

Define your target improvements for the organisation, categorised by type.  These are cross referenced to the business aspects/impacts.

Actions can be set up to meet the aims of the improvement and tracked to completion.

Environmental Action Tracker

All actions generated from environmental incidents and improvements will be visible through the action tracker.  The tracker displays month-on-month close-out performance for the last 2 years.

Reminder emails to those responsible for actions will ensure timely completion.
